FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Shopify or WooCommerce better?

The choice between Shopify and WooCommerce depends primarily on the type of business and the client's technical profile. Shopify is a SaaS platform that includes hosting, security and updates built in, making it the best option for projects that prioritise simplicity, fast setup and low technical maintenance. It is particularly suitable for stores with a relatively standard product catalogue. WooCommerce, on the other hand, is an open-source plugin running on WordPress, offering virtually unlimited customisation and greater control over the platform. It is the preferred choice when the project requires very specific functionality, complex integrations with external systems, or when the client already has a WordPress site. In all cases I advise on which option is most suitable based on the project goals and budget, so you can make an informed decision.

How much does it cost to develop an online store?

The cost of developing an online store varies depending on several factors: the number of products, the level of design customisation, the features required (payment gateways, management system integrations, inventory synchronisation, etc.) and the chosen platform (Shopify or WooCommerce). A simple store with a small catalogue and standard functionality has a significantly lower cost than a complex ecommerce with multiple integrations and custom workflows. That is why each project is quoted individually after a detailed analysis of the requirements. I do not provide generic prices because doing so would be misleading: I prefer to properly understand the project and give you a quote tailored to what you actually need. If you send me your project details I will be happy to prepare a no-obligation proposal.

Will I be able to manage products and orders easily?

Yes, both Shopify and WooCommerce have administration panels designed so anyone can manage the store without technical knowledge. From the dashboard you will be able to create and edit products, manage inventory, review and process orders, handle returns and communicate with customers. Shopify is particularly notable for the simplicity of its panel, making tasks such as adding products or managing shipping very intuitive. WooCommerce, being integrated into WordPress, also offers straightforward management while providing greater flexibility for advanced customisations. In both cases I configure the store so that day-to-day operations are as simple as possible. I also include a basic user guide when delivering the project so you can start managing your store independently from day one, without needing to rely on technical support for routine tasks.

Will the store be optimised for mobile?

Yes, all the stores I develop are fully optimised for mobile devices. More than 60% of online store visits come from smartphones, which is why mobile design and usability are a priority in all my projects. This means not only that the design is responsive and adapts visually to any screen, but also that the checkout process is fast and comfortable on mobile: well-sized buttons, easy-to-fill forms, optimised load times and a frictionless payment flow. I carry out tests across different devices and screen sizes to ensure an excellent user experience on all of them. Mobile speed also directly affects SEO, so I also optimise Core Web Vitals specifically for mobile devices, ensuring the store ranks well and converts effectively regardless of how visitors access it.

Can new features be added in the future?

Yes, the stores I develop are built to grow and adapt to the future needs of the business. Both Shopify and WooCommerce are mature platforms with a very broad ecosystem of extensions and plugins that allow new features to be added without rewriting the store from scratch. Common additions include integrations with marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay, subscription systems, loyalty programmes, product configurators, ERP or CRM integrations and advanced marketing modules. From the start of the project I consider scalability to ensure the chosen architecture does not limit future growth. If you have additional features in mind for the future, it is best to mention them during the analysis phase so they can be planned from the beginning, avoiding more costly modifications later on.
